3 Steps to Turn Your Dream of Buying a Home into a Reality in 2021

Does the Coronavirus have you working from home and thinking to yourself “I need more space?” The reality is, for some people, working remotely in your current home is challenging, especially when the option of change is weighing on your mind. Or maybe you are just simply ready to make that next big step in your life of buying a home, you just aren’t sure where to start? Well lucky for you I’m sharing three steps to help you get started making 2021 the year of buying your new home.

1. MAKE A PLAN:

Step one will make things feel more organized when starting your home search. Knowing what you want and what you need is a key factor at this time. I encourage you to sit down and come up with a list of wants and needs for your new home. Once you have completed that list also come up with a list of locations to you desire to live in and ones you want to stay away from. Analyzing these lists will help you recognize where you need to stand financially to acquire the house you want. This step can be challenging but it can also be a very exciting time dreaming about your next home!

2. TALK TO A BANK:

Understand that there are several mortgage financings options available for home buyers. You don’t always need a 20% down payment to purchase a home. There are programs that allow qualified buyers to purchase a home with a down payment as low as 3.5%. There are even options like VA loans and USDA loans with no down payment requirements for qualified applicants. Talking to a Loan Official will help you get started on a financial plan to become pre-approved! Yay!

3. FIND A REAL ESTATE AGENT:

Did you know that when buying a home, the seller pays agent commissions? Yes, you heard me, it is free to you as a home buyer to be represented by a real estate agent. Take your time when it comes to picking your agent, a good agent will guide you through what you don’t understand. There are several professionals involved in the home buying process, including mortgage lenders, title companies, home inspectors and more. This is another reason you want a professional by your side, your agent likely has a good idea of which partners to recommend ensuring that you will receive excellent service every step of the way.

My hopes are that these three general steps can give you courage and point you in the right direction to the beginning of the home buying process. With interest rates still at an all-time low 2021 is predicted to be a great year for home buyers. If you have further questions about this process The Jordan DeCaro Real Estate Team would be happy to work with you. We know what it means to be a good agent and we work extra hard putting in long hours to find our clients the home of their dreams.

Sincerely,

Alexa Smith
